A meeting or corporate event does not have to stop at the meeting room. At and around Thor Central, you can expand your programme with inspiring activities that add extra experience, connection and variety.
From a short immersive experience to a guided tour through the mining heritage, an active discovery of Thor Park or a behind-the-scenes visit to KRC Genk: create a programme that perfectly matches your team and event.
Immersive film Thor Park
Step into the story of Thor in around ten minutes. Through image, sound and immersive effects, the film takes you from the mining past of Waterschei to the innovative Thor Park of today. A short but powerful addition to a meeting, conference or corporate event.
Thor Central Energy Tour
Discover Thor Central and the surrounding site through the theme of energy. During the Thor Central Energy Tour, a guide takes you along different applications and connects the site’s industrial past with today’s technology and innovation.
Thor Park site tour
Explore Thor Park during a guided walk of approximately 1.5 kilometres. Along the way, you will learn more about the history of the former mining site, as well as the innovation, technology and entrepreneurship that shape Thor Park today.
Explore the National Park with a Ranger
Thor Park is a gateway to Hoge Kempen National Park. Together with a National Park Ranger, your group can head into nature for a guided experience centred around the landscape, flora and fauna, and the region’s mining heritage.
Explore Genk by ZOEF e-scooter
Looking for something more active? Set off from Thor on an electric ZOEF scooter and discover Genk in a fun and original way. A great activity for teams looking to combine their event with movement, fresh air and a different view of the city.
Behind the scenes at KRC Genk
Just a short walk from Thor Central, you will find the Cegeka Arena, home of KRC Genk. A stadium tour takes you behind the scenes, from the press room and dug-outs to the lounges, hospitality areas and other places normally hidden from view.
Discover the mining heritage at Mijndepot
At Mijndepot Waterschei, former miners and their families bring the story of Limburg’s mining history to life. Authentic objects, personal stories and reconstructed underground passages offer a unique insight into the people and history that shaped this site.
Combine business with experience. Start with a meeting, add an activity and finish the day with a reception, dinner or drinks through Thor Catering, Partaasch or Thor Terrazza. This way, you can create a complete programme for your team or guests, all in and around Thor Central.
